Site Security
Last Updated: Dec 2007
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage, realizes how important security
is to you, so we've taken a number of steps to enhance the protection
of personal or confidential information provided to or from Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., over the Internet.
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Technology: We require
that a "secure session" be established using Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) technology. This is done any time you supply or
access personal or confidential information in one of our secure
online areas.
SSL technology creates a private
conversation that only the computer you are using and Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., systems can understand. The SSL technology encodes information
as it is being sent over the Internet between your computer
and Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., systems, helping to ensure that the
transmitted information remains confidential.
The use of SSL requires two components:
an SSL-compatible browser and a secure web server to perform
the "key-exchange" that establishes a secure connection to
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., server systems.
- SSL Technology Requirements: The technological requirements
needed to benefit from SSL technology include Netscape 2.0
and newer, Microsoft's Internet Explorer 2.0 and newer, and
the web browser for America Online version 3.0 for Windows
and newer. (Note that some older browsers will not support
SSL sessions). In order to securely access your personal
or confidential information via the Internet, we recommend
you use the newest browser versions available. If you don't
already have a browser with SSL capabilities, you can download
an SSL-compliant browser from the links below
- AOL - www.aol.com
Microsoft Internet Explorer -
www.Microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp
Netscape Navigator - channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/default.jsp
-
A Compliant Internet Service
Provider: Nearly all Internet service providers (ISPs) automatically
enable the SSL session described above. If you use your company's
internal connection to access the Internet and you find you
cannot access Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., secure pages with an SSL
browser described above, your company may be blocking access
with a "firewall." Please speak to your company's Internet
systems administrator for further details about your network's
Internet access.
- Enabled Cookies: You also must have cookies enabled
on your browser in order to access confidential information.
If you have chosen to disable cookies on your browser, you
will not be able to access Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., Health Manager.
User ID and Password
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., requires the use of a User ID and
Password as a security measure that helps protect your confidential
information. This allows Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., to verify who you
are, thereby allowing you access to your account information
and preventing unauthorized entries. When you have finished using
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., make sure you always logout and close your
browser window.
You should be aware that browser
software often "caches" a page as you look at it, meaning
that some pages are saved in your computer's temporary memory.
Therefore, you may find that clicking on your browser's "Back" button
shows you a saved version of a previously viewed page. While
caching is common on most Internet sites, Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., Manager does not cache your pages. Caching in no way
affects the security of your confidential User ID or Password.
If you use a computer in a public place to access your account
information, simply quit or exit the browser software before
leaving to remove the possibility of anyone else viewing
your confidential information.
Firewalls
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., makes use
of the latest technology to protect your stored information.
We use firewalls at many levels to prevent unauthorized Internet
users from accessing our system. All messages entering or leaving
our system pass through these firewalls and are examined according
to our security policies. If the defined criteria are not met,
the message is blocked. A firewall is considered the first
line of defense in protecting private information.
Virus Protection
Our systems are also protected by virus programs
that are kept current to the latest standards. These virus
programs provide another layer of protection for our systems
and our users.
- How You Can Protect Yourself
Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., can reasonably
ensure that the data you store in our system is kept safe and
secure. We cannot provide protection for your computer or the
connection you make to the Internet. Here are a few steps you
can take to help make sure that your computer connection remains
safe from unauthorized intruders over the Internet: Your
Password: By making your password at least 8
characters long and by mixing both numbers and letters, you
can help Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., make your password even more
difficult for an unauthorized user to "guess." It is recommended
that you change your password at least every 6 months.
Your Username: Your username, combined
with your password, provides you access to your Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., member areas. Your username should be at least 8 characters
in length and can be letters and numbers. Keep in mind that
the longer username is and the greater mixture of letters and
numbers you use (alpha-numeric), the more difficult
it will be for an unauthorized person to "guess."
Personal Firewalls: Much like the
firewalls that Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., uses to protect your data,
a personal home firewall will help protect your home computer
from unauthorized users entering your computer from the Internet.
There are many home computer firewall programs available.
Spyware Protection: Also called adware,
spyware is any software that secretly gathers user information
through the user's Internet connection without his or her knowledge,
usually for advertising purposes. Spyware applications are
typically bundled as a hidden component of freeware or shareware
programs that can be downloaded from the Internet. Once installed,
the spyware monitors your activity on the Internet, including
e-mail addresses, passwords, usernames, and credit card numbers.
Spyware transmits that information secretly to someone else
who will either use it for advertising and marketing purposes
or sell the information to another party. Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage.,
does not endorse any specific product or service, but we have
listed examples of spyware detection and removal software for
your review. It should also be noted that a personal firewall
might help detect and prevent spyware programs' attempts to
communicate to or from your personal computer.

- Virus Protection: At the time this
document was written, there were more than 2,300 known computer
viruses. Every computer should have a virus detection program
running in conjunction with personal firewall software. Your
local computer store can help you select a program that is
right for you. Copyright © 2007 Pan American Mortgage., does not endorse any specific
product or service, but we have listed examples of virus protection
software for your review:

We are the sole owner of the information
collected on this website. We collect information from our users
at several different points on our website.
Information We Collect
If you open an account on our site, we need your contact
information including your name, e-mail address, and mailing
address. We use your purchase history, contact information, and
other registration information to send you information and to
otherwise enhance your shopping experience.
When you visit our website, we also collect some basic information
that does not identify individual users. We use this information
to determine our users demographics and interests, so we can
better understand and serve our users.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that store certain information
about your activity on the website and are stored on your computers
hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying
information. We use cookies to let us know that you are a prior
customer, so you dont have to reenter information you gave us
during your prior visits. Most web browsers automatically accept
cookies, but most allow you to instruct your browser to prevent
the use of cookies. If you disable cookies, you will not be able
to use certain features of this website.
Log Files
Like most standard website servers we use log files.
This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type,
internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages,
platform type, date and time stamp, and number of clicks
to analyze trends, administer the site, track users movements
in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information
for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally
identifiable information
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
- We sometimes employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a.
Web Beacons and Web Bugs), that help us better manage
content on our site by informing us what content is effective.
Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar
in function to cookies, and are used to track the online
movements of website users. The main difference between the
two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are
much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of
this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users personally
identifiable information.
In addition, we sometimes use clear gifs in our HTML e-mails
to let us know which e-mails are opened by the recipients. This
allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications
and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If users would
like to opt-out of these e-mails, please see the Opt-out section.
Our Use and Disclosure of Your
Information
- We may send e-mails to our users announcing special promotions,
changes in our services, or other information we believe will
be of interest to our users. If you prefer not to receive e-mail,
you will find an opt-out link at the bottom of our announcement
e-mail.
Customer Service
- We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested
services. For questions concerning a users account, we may
communicate by e-mail or telephone, in accordance with the
users wishes. We send confirming e-mails when orders are placed
and to confirm membership changes and subscriptions.
If you send us personal correspondence, such as e-mails or letters,
or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about
your activities on our site, we may collect such information.
We may use that information and other information that we obtain
from your use of our site to resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems,
and enforce our agreement for Terms of Use.
Choice/Opt-out
Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and
promotional communications may opt-out of these communications
by following the remove instructions at the end of each such
communication. We also offer an opt-out mechanism on the website
or the user may contact the Compliance Officer at our main address.
Surveys and Contests
From time-to-time, our site requests information from
users through surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys
or contests is completely voluntary and the user has a choice
whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information
typically includes contact information (such as name and
shipping address), and demographic information
(such as ZIP code). Contact information will be used and/or
shared with the contest or survey sponsors to notify the winners
and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes
of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.
Users personally identifiable information is not shared with
third parties unless we give prior notice and choice. Though
we may use an intermediary to conduct these surveys or contests,
they may not use users personally identifiable information for
any secondary purposes.
Tell-A-Friend
- If a user elects to use our referral service for informing
a friend about our site, we ask them for the friends name and
e-mail address. We will automatically send the friend a one-time
e-mail inviting them to visit the site. We store this information
for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail and tracking
the success of our referral program. The friend may contact
our Compliance Officer at the address below to request the
removal of this information from our database.

that is publicly accessible, you may receive unsolicited messages
from other parties.

law wherein we have a good faith belief that such action is
necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court
order, or legal process served on our website.

and advertisers. This is not linked to any personally identifiable
information.
Instances When We Will Share Users Personal Information
- We share personal information with parent companies, subsidiaries,
or affiliated companies for reasons other than corporate record
keeping purposes. Typically these kinds of sharing arrangements
occur when the third party owns or controls some or all of
the customer relationship.
Third Party Intermediaries
- For certain products, we use an outside shipping company
to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill
users for goods and services.
Service Providers
- We contract with third parties to provide specific services.
For example, when the user signs up for subscription services,
online courses, or other services, we share names, e-mail addresses,
and other pertinent information that is necessary for the third
party to provide these services. These third parties are not
allowed to use personally identifiable information except for
the purpose of providing these services.

a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion
of our companys assets, users personal information will, in
most instances, be part of the assets transferred.

misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.
All user credit card information is securely communicated using

and among the best software available for secure commerce transactions.

knowingly market to children. We require that children under
the age of 18 use this service only in conjunction with their
parents or guardians.
Changes to Privacy Statement; Consent
- We may update this Security and Privacy Statement from time
to time. If we decide to change our policy, we will post those
changes to this statement so our users are always aware of
what information we collect, how we use it, and under what
circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
If, however, we are going to use users personally identifiable
information in a manner different from that stated at the time
of collection we will notify users by posting a notice on our
website for thirty (30) days.
